In Hau Giang, Rice is one of the four major crops of the province and quickly developed into a large commodity production area, towards quality and efficiency. Hau Giang province has also been implementing many large sample fields to bring technical advances to the field. With an agricultural land area of ​​nearly 134,000 ha, of which rice accounts for nearly 82,000 ha with 76,300 households growing rice, cultivated area of ​​more than 200,000 ha/ year. Rice productivity has also increased in recent years, averaging 7.3 tons/ year. In particular, there are places up to 8 tons/ ha. Annual output is over 1.2 million tons.

        Therefore, for the sustainable rice cultivation, farmers need to apply many methods to lower production costs. In addition to the stage of breeding, planting seasonal crops, making soil carefully, good water management, the use of fertilizers and fertilizers have a very important role in the current rice production.

        Derived from the above practice, approved by Hau Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Hau Giang Agricultural Extension Center in coordination with Song Gianh Corporation to perform fertilizers on rice fields at Hau Giang in order to find the most suitable fertilizer for Hau Giang area and at the same time contribute to productivity increasing and quality of rice and production costs lowering.

        The Song Gianh fertilizer model implemented on 3000 m2 of land for OM 5451 and ST24 rice varieties in Vi Dong, Vi Binh and Vi Thang commune of Vi Thuy districts, Hau Giang province. By the application of the new cultivation method using Song Gianh micro-organic fertilizer helped the farmers reduce pestilent insect, reduce plant protection costs, but have high productivity, reaching 30% more than the previously method, as for ST24 rice variety, the yield of 9.7 tons / ha increased by 500 kg / ha. Next time, Song Gianh Corporation will replicate the model in other localities.
